Our story began in 2008 with our CEO, Ronald Greene on a quest to finding relief for his battle and lifelong struggle with Ulcerative Colitis. When Ron was 19, he began taking very strong medications to try and cure the pain, but found himself struggling with his physical and mental health. Desperate for relief, he spent day in and day out visiting Natural food stores searching for any kind of remedy.

Rooted in the desire to use food as medicine, Ron discovered that coconut water was an excellent source of hydration, which helped ease the side effects of this disease, but finding a coconut water that tasted good was lacking in the market.

He quickly became obsessed with trying to solve this, searching for the best tasting coconuts he could find across the globe, and made it his life long’s mission to start his own business from the ground up. Ron had the support from his family and friends to pursue this dream and with selling everything he owned, in October of 2008, C2O had its first customer, Erewhon in West Hollywood, CA.
